Normal Delivery Best Hospital in kukatpally

Childbirth is a normal process, and a female body is designed for this process. However, due to different lifestyle changes, its occurrence is diminishing day after day. Modern women do not find time to exercise enough to keep their bodies ready for this process. Unlike our ancestors, women these days face several issues in delivering the baby naturally. First and foremost, they are not prepared to endure the pain for long hours, even if it is mild. Most women prefer to go for pain killers and epidurals instead of bearing the pain until the end. Or go for a C-section, even if it is not medically required. A good gynecologist will always help you in going for the safe option unless it is an emergency. But for you to make the right decision, you should have a thorough understanding of the process.

What is normal delivery?

Also called vaginal delivery, it is the natural process of delivery without any external medical intervention. In the vaginal process, you will have a healthy baby and a quick recovery.
Symptoms such as loosened stools, loosened joints, urge to urinate, false contractions, dilations at the cervix, indicate that you might have the delivery in one to six weeks. Whereas symptoms like water breaking with thick vaginal discharge, pinkish and thick mucus in urine, more frequent and stronger contractions, pain in the lower back that radiates into the abdomen and legs indicate that you will deliver the baby within hours.

Stages of normal delivery

1. First stage – Labor and effacement of the cervix

It involves contractions which makes the cervix dilate, making it expand so that baby comes out easily. The first stage is the longest and can last up to 13 hrs for first-timers. During this stage, the cervix dilates gradually in steps. First, it widens to 4 cm in first and 7 cm and 10 cm. Throughout this period, you would feel the contractions continually every 3-4 minutes. The last step is the most painful one where you can feel contractions every 2 minutes that last for 60 -90 seconds.

2.Pushing and birth

You should start pushing your baby with every contraction at this stage despite the pain and fatigue. When the baby finally starts coming out, you may feel intense pain around the vagina, but the pushing should be continued till the baby is completely out of your body.

3.Pushing out placenta

It is the afterbirth process in which the placenta is pushed out of the body. You may experience mild contractions at this stage too.No two deliveries are the same, and neither are experiences. While some women just have the feeling of taking a dump when delivering a baby, some others might feel like falling apart. In the end, it all boils down to your fitness levels, prenatal care, and genetics.
